BSkyB has bounced into the new year with a triple-play bundled package, raising the bar for other telecommunications companies for 2007 and providing customers with more choice, better quality and cheaper prices.
Its See, Speak, Surf package will rival BT's current Vision package and crucially will arrive in front of cable rival ntl's re-branding to Virgin Media.
Consumers will soon see evidence of BSkyB's multi-million pound advertising budget allocated to the promotion of its bundled services.
The launch was timed "perfectly" according to Steve Weller, head of communications services at the independent price comparison and switching service uSwitch.com.
"Sky's launch of See, Speak, Surf today is another demonstration of its intention to become a major telecoms provider this year. If its competitors weren't already afraid of Sky's capabilities in the communications arena, they should be now," Mr Weller commented.
"We will be very interested to see how Virgin Media plans to stand up to the exceptional value offered in Sky's new package, which is £136 a year cheaper than the current ntl 4Mb triple-play offering," he continued.
Mr Weller went on to say that despite the fact that Sky had met its self-set unbundling targets when it launched broadband last July, it's target of 70% will not be unbundled until the summer.
