11 September 2007

Orange has revealed the cartoon characters which will form the branding for its forthcoming broadband TV service.

Three animated characters; a roadie representing music, a TV fan for programmes and a character with a clapperboard for film will head up a cast of 15 animated characters in the Orange TV promotional idents.

Orange TV will offer digital channels from Freeview, seven day catch-up TV and video on demand via a set-top box plugged into their television and broadband connection.

"Orange's digital TV service will allow viewers to get more from their TV by putting them in control of the best quality entertainment and enabling them to watch what they want, when they want, how they want," Director of Digital TV at Orange, Tim Pearson, said.

"The characters are fun, warm and engaging and will guide viewers around a great line-up of film, TV, sport, entertainment and music from the comfort of their favourite armchair."

In total 44 different idents will help lead viewers into programmes on the service, which is set to launch later this year.
