Gamers could soon be given the chance to watch BBC TV programmes on their Xbox consoles.
The BBC and Microsoft are reportedly in talks to discuss using TV programmes on Xbox 360 live gaming, according to the Times' world event blog.
Such a deal would allow gamers to download BBC TV shows to their consoles, similar to the existing video-on-demand service using content from MTV, Disney, Fox, CBS, Paramount and Warner Bros in the US.
It is as yet unknown whether Xbox 360 players will be charged for the service, with Microsoft reportedly also in talks with other media companies in Europe.
"We are working diligently on multiple fronts to make this happen," Ross Honey, Senior Director for media at Microsoft's content and partner strategy group, explained.
"The BBC is a great content provider."
Last month rival company Sony announced it was to introduce PlayTV, an external device for the PlayStation 3, allowing gamers to watch high-definition TV broadcasts using their game console.
