BT Vision has announced that it is to team up with Setanta to offer free live Premier League football to its digital TV customers. The deal will see BT Vision viewers paying £14 a month for on demand services offered access to 46 live Premier League games and 60 Scottish Premier League matches, plus FA Cup games and World Cup qualifiers. Digital TV customers, who can already watch live football through Sky and Virgin Media, will have more choice as a result of the linkup. Independent price comparison site uSwitch.com is urging football fans eager to catch as many games as possible for the lowest price to shop around before signing up to watch this season's action. uSwitch.com's communications expert Steve Weller said: "At a time when the top clubs are still assessing the transfer market to get the best players at the best prices, armchair football fans should do likewise to ensure they are getting the best deal for the TV package they want this season." Meanwhile, a new free-to-air sports and gaming channel called SportsXchange has made its debut on Sky digital and Ireland's UPC cable services.
