Sky launches autumn campaign

29 August 2008

Satellite television provider Sky has launched a new advertising campaign to promote its autumn programme schedule on Sky1 to digital TV viewers. Online, print and television ads will be launched featuring a host of famous faces, including Wayne Rooney, Noel Edmonds, Ross Kemp and Denise Van Outen. Described as Sky1's "most brand-significant refresh since launch", the campaign will be rolled out from August 31st. The strapline will be 'Sky 1. There's Only One'. There will be a specific focus on some of the channel's most popular programmes, including Ross Kemp on Gangs, Prison Break and the new entertainment series Hairspray: The School Musical. Alex Lewis, Director of Marketing and Communications for Sky, told mad.co.uk: "This campaign will use Sky1's outstanding talent to introduce the new identity and showcase the range of exclusive programming on Sky1 this autumn." TechRadar.com reports that Sky is still in talks with Virgin Media over the possibility of putting Sky channels back on the cable network.
