The UK is leading the way when it comes to the take-up of digital TV around the globe, according to a new report by the communications regulator Ofcom.
It found that 86% of UK consumers now have digital TV on their main set, while services such as high definition are also growing in popularity.
Indeed, the UK now has 700,000 high definition households, which is more than France, Germany and Italy combined.
Ofcom said its research shows that the UK has become "one of the most digitally advanced nations in the world".
It also shows that UK consumers are getting an increasingly good deal on digital TV and other communications services.
Households are now able to get a home phone, four mobile phones, a basic digital TV package and broadband internet for around £116 a month.
The research comes after the Scottish Borders became the first full UK region to switch to digital TV following a successful trial in Whitehaven, Cumbria last year.
