Consumers wanting to cut energy costs while reducing their carbon footprints are being invited to attend the Ecohomes Show at the Birmingham NEC on March 22-25th.
Held as part of the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show being put on at the NEC that week, the Ecohomes Show hopes to inspire homeowners on the best ways to save their cash while saving the environment.
Talks and presentations will be given on a variety of eco-friendly subjects including solar-powered heating, using recycled building material and insulation.
"Improving domestic energy efficiency will cut fuel bills and reduce carbon emissions," said Nick Noble, Director of the Ecohomes Show. "This has to be a good idea whether you are building a brand new home or making your current home more efficient."
Zac Goldsmith, editor of The Ecologist magazine, added: "If every light bulb in the UK was exchanged with an energy efficient model, we'd save the power equivalent of nearly two advanced gas-cooled reactors. If we all make this small adjustment, the payback will be enormous.
