Elderly charity Age Concern is pleased to announce that it can confirm its Energy Services members will receive 10.50 towards their energy bills, despite the warmer temperatures experienced this winter.
Working alongside Powergen, Age Concern is once again able to offer a contribution towards energy costs, as well as one year's supply of carbon monoxide detectors, a free early-warning hypothermia thermometer, three free low-energy light bulbs and energy efficiency advice for vulnerable customers switching to their service.
Diana Corrick from Age Concern Devon, told local paper the Mid-Devon Star: "We know that every winter many older people struggle to keep warm and with the seemingly unstable energy prices, more people than ever are feeling the chill.
"Hypothermia and other cold-related illnesses present a very real threat to vulnerable older people every year.
"We're pleased that our Cold Weather Payment is guaranteed and that our customers in Devon continue to benefit, despite the milder weather conditions experienced this year," she concluded.
Age Concern's products are available across the country, though it's worth checking with your local branch to see if they are able to support them before signing up.
