Consumers using the independent price comparison and switching site uSwitch.com to compare gas and electricity tariffs can be 100% confident that the results they are receiving are completely unbiased, it has been found. In an audit by the consumer group energywatch, uSwitch.com met the standards set out in the group's confidence code and was found to provide consumers with an "accurate and comprehensive" service. Tim Whittle, energywatch Code Manager, said the confidence code is "even more robust" this year than it has been in previous years, which demonstrates the commitment of websites like uSwitch.com to meeting the challenges set by energywatch. Commenting, Nick White, Director of Products ay uSwitch.com, said: "In a time of rising prices and financial uncertainty, consumers who want to cut the cost of household bills can use our service with absolute confidence that they are doing the right thing." All six of the UK's major gas and electricity providers have increased their prices twice this year, with the latest rises coming ahead of the winter months and prompting many consumers to shop around for cheaper deals.
