A new campaign has been launched to promote the benefits of energy efficiency to businesses across the UK.
According to the Carbon Trust - the organisation behind the One Million a Day campaign - UK firms could save a total of £1 million every day by reducing their energy consumption.
Even small changes, such as switching to energy efficient lighting, could help businesses cut their energy bills by up to 20%, the group claims.
"All businesses, whether big or small, should realise easy cost savings by taking sensible energy efficiency measures," said Tom Delay, Chief Executive of the Carbon Trust.
Businesses could also benefit from using smart meters on their premises. According to the Energy Savings Trust the devices help households and businesses save money by showing them where they can cut back.
Its Chief Executive Philip Sellwood called on the government to commit to a national roll-out of the devices.
