British Gas is likely to cut the prices of its customers' bills later this year, it is claimed. Centrica has found the profits for the firm are down by 34%, although this is unlikely to deter it from making further price cuts. "Today's results explain British Gas' cautious approach to cutting prices this year. Although 10% on gas only was lower than expected the supplier was first to respond to lower wholesale prices," comments Ann Robinson, Director of Consumer Policy at uSwitch.com.
