Scottish Power has reduced the cost of household bills for its customers, the company has announced. It revealed the price changes will come into effect on March 31st, with a 7.5% reduction seen on gas bills and 3% on electricity. "British Gas laid down the gauntlet yesterday when it pointed out that it was still the only supplier to have actually cut prices for customers," claimed Will Marples, Energy Expert at uSwitch.com. He said customers are now "one step closer to lower prices", adding that they should be searching for a competitive plan to save themselves the most money. Centrica revealed last year that British Gas was likely to cut its costs in response to falling wholesale energy prices, with further reductions anticipated over the coming months. It said people should act now rather than hold out for price cuts to get the best bargain on their bills. Consumers looking for the best deal on their energy bills should search online now.
