A number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are considering switching their energy supplier to cut costs, although many have not yet got round to making the switch, it is claimed.
Findings from uSwitchforbusiness.com show this is the case for 77% of business owners, although only 43% of those questioned had actually made the move.
With many companies struggling during the recession, costs need to be cut wherever possible, warns Will Marples, energy Expert at the website.
He continues: "In this climate, shopping around for your next energy contract makes sense as no business can afford to be paying more for their energy than competitors."
Once businesses have made the switch, they can then think about using less energy, says uSwitchforbusiness.com, although the 59% of firms which need to cut costs must act first.
Earlier this month, uSwitch.com revealed many energy price cuts will not help relieve energy poverty in the UK.
