The government needs to continue to invest in green technology to maintain the country's eco-friendly credentials, it is claimed.
Charles Anglin, Communications Director at the Wind Energy Association, believes many schemes which have already received investment are grinding to a halt.
"By rising costs, by the falling pound, by cutting credit, the question is will the government take the right action to release that pent up investment?" he questions.
With banks not lending to projects, Mr Anglin says people are beginning to lose faith in the long-term future of the policy.
By switching to more eco-friendly methods, homeowners can do their bit for the environment, while potentially slashing the cost of their energy bills.
The Committee on Climate Change has urged the government to unilaterally commit to reducing emissions of all greenhouse gases in the UK by at least 34 per cent in 2020 relative to 1990 levels.
