A new initiative has been set up by the government looking at how Biomass Heating and Combined Heat and Power avenues can aid consumers.
Grants are to be available to a number of organisations such as shops but also to farms and breweries, after the plans were made clear by Phil Woolas, the Climate Change Minister.
The politician stated that the carbon footprint of a number of institutions needs to be reduced if the environment is to benefit.
"Funding to support the installation of biomass-fuelled heat boilers and combined heat and power plants can really make a difference and I invite all those who are eligible to apply," he commented.
Interested parties have six weeks in which to apply for the monetary incentives. Altogether, 40% of the difference between biomass and fossil fuel installed capabilities will be given.
Mr Woolas has also worked as a television producer and has been an MP since 1997.
