The UK's growing VoIP home telephone market has today been reflecting on Tuesday's news that Viseon, one of the world's leading developers of VoIP technology, has taken a significant step closer to rolling out its anticipated digital home telephone, the VisiFone.
The news follows confirmation of Viseon's agreement with Terpin Communications that should now ease the home phone innovator's attempts to not only supply digital quality home telephony but also two-way, TV quality video communications and IP-based video streaming.
The UK market has seen similar technologies exhibited recently, such as Siemens' latest unveilings, but Viseon now looks set to become the first to release its digital home phone service on a public level following successful reviews at exhibitions such as the CES.
Chiefs at Viseon have repeatedly emphasised their commitment to working with firms to enhance "the consumer telephone experience by positioning VoIP as a premium service versus Plain Old Telephone Service".
The firm which operates through 18 European countries ultimately aspires to replace the analogue telephone with top of the range digital home telephony quality.
