Post Office enjoys home phone success

31 March 2005

The Post Office is celebrating the excellent start made by its HomePhone service by reducing its price tariffs for its existing and prospective customers.

The service was launched on January 10th this year and has already attracted some 60,000 customers.

The new price reductions will be introduced in the next few days and should undercut rival BT's Together Option1 tariff by at least 20 per cent for nearly half of all customers.

The chief executive at Post Office David Mills commented: "We've had a great response from our customers to Post Office HomePhone. As a result we have been able to review our pricing strategy and provide customers with even better deals.

"When we launched in January, HomePhone offered average savings of 12 per cent but with the new lower prices, consumers can enjoy an average saving of up to 20 per cent."

A recent study revealed that 97 per cent of customers were satisfied with HomePhone, the highest level of customer contentment Post Office has seen for any of its products.

"To win in this market you have to be competitive," added Mr Mills. "Our customers are clearly very happy with the HomePhone service and we are delighted to be able to bring them even greater savings."
