Carphone Warehouse sets ambitious TalkTalk targets

15 April 2005

Europe's largest independent mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse has today revealed ambitious targets for its UK home phone service TalkTalk.

The target of reaching 2,000,000 customers by 2008 has been seen as a positive sign by many industry experts who could well be rethinking their pessimistic annual forecasts for the home phone market in general.

TalkTalk now has 920,000 customers throughout Britain and has seen a bullish trend recently, partially attributable to the group's successful advertisements featuring Maureen Lipman.

The home phone company's chief executive Charles Dunstone revealed that he is now anticipating full-year profits at the upper end of market forecasts.

Mr Dunstone added: "We are excited about the investment and growth opportunities in the coming year."
