Saga has announced that it is offering a special home phone deal that will see it hand out free evening and weekend calls to customers for up to six months.
New customers for the company's Hourtime tariff who sign up before the end of July will be given the six-month free call deal.
Those signing up for the Standard tariff will receive three months of free weekend and evening calls.
Savings are also being offered to those opting for its Anytime tariff. They are being offered free local and national calls for a month.
Andrew Goodsell, chief executive of Saga, said: "62% of the population have still not switched their telephone provider and many are paying excessive costs to keep in touch with their relatives and friends.
"With families becoming increasingly geographically dispersed, keeping in touch by phone and internet is on the increase, it is therefore essential for all consumers to know that they are not paying over the odds for their calls."
The offer is available to anyone over the age of 50.
