England team phonecards launched

14 June 2006

The Post Office has launched three new England football team phonecards designed to help consumers save money on international calls.

Phone users will be able to take part in the footballing debate with family and friends with fewer worries about the cost, even if they are overseas.

Each phonecard has a different image of the England team and are priced at £5, £10 and £20 each.

The company says that they serve as the ideal way to indulge in the kind of international debate that the World Cup helps to create and are also a nice piece of memorabilia with which to remember England's participation in the 2006 tournament.

"England's performance in the World Cup is set to get us all talking. But, if you're away from family or friends overseas, it's very easy to build up expensive phone bills," said Jeremy Woodrow, head of Post Office phonecards.

"By using the Post Office England Team phonecards everyone can be a winner when it comes to making great savings on international phone calls."
