Biscit launches student and OAP discounts

31 October 2006

Telecommunications company Biscit is introducing subsidies for seniors and students in a drive to promote its home phone services.

The statement comes after the telecommunications company called on the government to provide more support for data and voice needs in a similar way to how they treat education, travel and heat subsidies.

The offer is part of a bundle which includes internet access, and is in keeping with the company's programme of providing communications for all socio-economic groups.

The bundle, known as freeMAX Home, offers seniors an affordable way to keep in touch with their friends and family by phone as well as allowing them to become part of the ever increasing 'grey' internet community.

With a 10% discount for seniors and students, consumers can access this service for just £18.00 per month. The package includes 720 anytime minutes to all UK landlines.

The freeMAX Unlimited package is aimed more at the student market and offers 2,400 anytime minutes to all UK landlines. The service also offers unlimited call time to two nominated landlines in America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and several European countries for the price of £27 per month.

Biscit claims customers will save up to £11 per month, or £132 per year, in line rental charges, compared to BT's prices.
