World's loudest phone set to help elderly landline users

10 January 2007

Noisyphones, which claims to have the loudest phone on the market, is bringing its handsets to the UK in a move which is predicted to help elderly and hard-of-hearing consumers across the country.

Delivering an impressive 86 decibel ring volume on its maximum setting, the phone also features a large and highly visible bright red flashing light to alert the phone's owners when a call is coming in.

In addition, the key pad is significantly larger than a standard home phone, complete with one inch square dialling buttons and with space to include a photograph of the person the owner wishes to add to their speed dial list, making it easier to remember which person is assigned to which digit.

Currently priced at £89.95, the phone also features three emergency buttons which can be programmed to store numbers like 999, the local doctors and the consumers' closest relative.

Noisyphones have already enjoyed considerable success stateside and demand is expected to be just as high here in the UK.
