Fresh Orange deal for landline customers

21 September 2007

Mobile phone giant Orange has announced plans to launch a new home landline service.

The Orange Home Max package includes a landline connection bundled with a broadband deal.

Orange Home Max, which represents the first time the firm has ventured into the traditional landline market, includes a landline connection offering free weekend and evening calls as well as Orange Livebox, a wireless modem.

The company hopes that the package will offer better value and a streamlined deal to customers by removing the need to pay another provider for their line rental.

Meanwhile, Orange Home Starter has been launched for customers who want to keep their fixed line phone supplier but opt to move over to Orange Broadband.

"With the launch of our home phone service and new broadband packages, Orange is now able to serve all of a household's communication needs," said Eric Abensur, of Orange Home UK.

"What's more, home phone and broadband can all be taken care of with a single bill and one port of call for customer service. There's also no need to pay separate line rental charges."

Last year Orange launched its first phone service over the internet utilising Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
