Fathers are the group least likely to receive a phone call from their loved ones, regardless of the UK being a nation which loves to chat, research reveals.
Only 3% of those questioned by Saga said they frequently call their dad for a chat, despite the average Briton making up to five calls to friends and family every day.
Home phones are the preferred method of communication for the over-50s, the findings revealed, with 74% favouring them compared to 38% of younger generations.
Partners are the most frequently called people, followed by sons and daughters and mothers.
Saga revealed earlier this month that June 6th was the most common day for burglaries for the over-50s, adding that it is a vulnerable month as people go on holiday and head out in the evenings.
