Drivers try to deceive car insurance companies
Another scam pulled by drivers is asking their garage to also carry out an MOT on their vehicle, which is then claimed as a free service on their car insurance.
This follows results from a study by Co-operative Insurance, which found that honest drivers are footing bills of £1.25 billion a year due to fraudulent claims.
"Millions of people are deliberately flouting the law by not insuring their cars at massive cost to honest road users," explained Tim Franklin, Chief Operating Officer.
