Road rage incidents 'affect 58% of motorists'
Findings compiled by Sainsbury's Car Insurance show this is the case for 58% of motorists in the UK, with tail-gating the most common cause of distress.
"A worrying number of motorists have unfortunately suffered from road rage or car-jacking and the result can be both mentally and physically scarring for the victims," comments Joanne Mallon, Sainsbury's Car Insurance Manager.
The company advises that the majority of car insurance policies do not cover those who are the victims of such incidents, despite 2.4 million people experiencing it themselves or knowing someone who has.
However, with the help of uSwitch.com, consumers can find the best car insurance policy for their individual requirements.
Earlier this month, Sainsbury's revealed that motorists are failing to haggle over the cost of a new car, costing them over £200 million every year.
