Whiplash experts to crack down on bogus car insurance claims
Further changes which were approved when the Prime Minister met the Cabinet last week include whiplash not even being considered at speeds under ten miles per hour and a cap on the amount lawyers can charge for representation in such cases.
A spokesperson for the government told the news provider: "If we set up teams of specialists in the condition, we will weed out the bogus claims to the benefit of those putting in genuine complaints."
The average cost of car insurance now stands at £410 a year, but some young drivers are having to pay as much as £2,977 to insure themselves on the road.
Britain has recently been dubbed the whiplash capital of Europe due to the huge number of claims relating to the injury.
