<div class="rxbodyfield" xmlns:o="urn:www.microsoft.com/office" xmlns:st1="urn:www.microsoft.com/smarttags" xmlns:st2="urn:www.microsoft.com/smarttags2" xmlns:w="urn:www.microsoft.com/word" xmlns:x="urn:www.microsoft.com/excel"><p>Across the UK a number of initiatives are taking place to teach the older consumer how to get the most out of their mobile phones.</p><p>Several of the courses require participants to go back to school - literally - as small group sessions use local school facilities for a non-threatening, relaxed teaching environment.</p><p>In one case, it&#39;s the pupils of the school who are turning into teachers, with students at Bedford High, Lancashire, organising a class for over 50s to teach them how to text and use their mobile phones properly.</p><p>Put together in association with Wigan and Leigh Pensioners&#39; Link, the lessons will start on March 16th and run from 12.45 and 14.45GMT.</p><p>A Link spokesman told the Leigh Journal: &quot;The older pupils are really up for it and willing to help.&quot;</p><p>Elsewhere, lessons have also begun at a primary school in East Renfrewshire, Scotland. According to a BBC Scotland news report, the class was set up after local research revealed that pensioners in the area wanted a lesson on mobile phone usage designed for their age group and to be taken at a slow pace.</p><p>Chris Rafferty, who leads the course, commented: &quot;They feel quite confident when they&#39;re out and about and just to be able to speak to their granddaughter or grandson - I think they&#39;re getting a real kick out of it.&quot;</p><p>There&#39;s plenty of choice so let uSwitch.com help you find the perfect mobile phone.
