Over half of 16-24 year olds would consider organising their finances by mobile phone if the technology became more widely available.
According to research from Alliance & Leicester - which is introducing a mobile banking service - an additional 44% said they would be glad to check their phones to see if they had enough cash in their bank before making a purchase.
Another 27% also said they would be willing to use their mobiles to check their finances while abroad, while a third of respondents said that they would most likely use a mobile banking service to receive a mini statement of their current account.
Current Accounts Manager at Alliance & Leicester Helen Palmer said: "Mobile phones have fast become a central tool in everyone's day-to-day lives and being able to use them for extended services like managing your finances will be extremely convenient for very many people.
"Although the technology is still relatively new, it's great to see young people embracing it to keep a check of their finances and manage their money more effectively," she added.
