3 launches mobile broadband

24 August 2007

Mobile phone network provider 3UK has launched a new broadband service for "today's mobile generation".

The new Turbo network will allow customers to surf the internet at speeds of 2.8Mbps, while users will plug in 3's USB modem into their laptop and start using broadband internet wherever they are in the world.

Monthly prices for the service are split up into three categories; Broadband Lite (1GB), Broadband Plus (3GB) and Broadband Max (7GB), ranging in price from £10 to £25 per month.

1GB gives customers around 40 hours surfing the internet, as well as 280 Text E-mails, plus 80 music downloads and 20 hours of video streaming, per month 3UK claims.

John Penberthy-Smith, Marketing Director at 3UK, said: "Mobile Broadband from 3 means you can take the internet with you wherever you are.

"We've priced it to make it outstanding value for money; accessible to everyone, not just men in grey suits!"

3, who launched the UK's first 3G network, is set to roll-out the service in the UK from September 3rd.
