Mobile phone firm Sony Ericsson unveiled its tech plans for this year and next yesterday, which include the release of three brand-new handsets.
Two Walkman phones, the W890 and the W380, are to be added to the range - along with the internet-enabled K660, which the manufacturer describes as "youth-centric".
The W890 includes 2GB of storage and a 3.2 megapixel camera - while the W380, unusually for an Ericsson phone, is in a 'clamshell' design.
Both handsets mark a continuation of the Swedish firm's Walkman-branded mp3 player phone devices.
The timing of the announcement also comes in the week which Apple's iPhone - which contains a mini iPod mp3 player - is released.
By contrast, the K660 was designed so that users could enjoy speedy web access while on the move.
"Sony Ericsson's vision is to offer 'Generation Web' a mobile internet experience that's rich, user-friendly and satisfying," Martin Winkler, Head of Web Marketing at Sony Ericsson said of the phone.
"This web-optimised phone is a clear step along that journey and will appeal to individuals who are managing their busy lives and social networks online, whether it's arranging to meet up for a football match or booking concert tickets."
All three Sony Ericsson handsets are scheduled for worldwide release in early 2008.
