Internet search specialists Yahoo will announce that it will improve the web services provided by the company for mobile phones.
Yahoo's future strategy in the mobile phone market is to be mapped out by the company's founder, Jerry Yang, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas today.
Coupled with Mr Yang's speech, Yahoo has released its trial version of a new search engine web page tailored especially for internet-enabled mobile phone users today.
The new trial marks the latest stage in the US firm's move into the mobile phone market - it launched its Yahoo Go software package for the phones in 2005, and has previously linked-up with MySpace, eBay and MTV to develop mobile services.
Executive Vice President of Yahoo's Connected Life Division, Marco Boerries, hinted to the New York Times that the search engine giant would continue collaborations of this kind as it developed its products for the sector.
"If Yahoo really wants to become the starting point for everyone, it cannot be only about Yahoo," he commented.
