Britain's mobile phone users are ignoring new add-ons and extra features in favour of calling and texting, new research shows.
According to the study, conducted by mobile interaction firm SNAPin Software, 60% of customers use their phones purely for these purposes.
Moreover, just 30% used the most popular add-on for their phone - a camera - and only 12% used the internet on their handset.
Chief Executive at SNAPin, Robert Lewis, commented: "Today's mobile phones are packed with functionality, yet many mobile users only discover a mere fraction of the features and applications available.
"We believe this situation is symptomatic of how mobile handset manufacturers and operators approach user education - users need simpler and less time intensive ways of discovering their mobile phones' potential."
The firm's study was conducted last month - and involved just under 2,000 UK mobile users being quizzed about their phone habits.
