Apple has released an upgraded model of its new mobile, the iPhone.
A handset containing 16GB of memory has gone on sale at £329 - complementing the previously-available 8GB model at £269.
As the mobile phone contains an mp3 player and video technology, the extra capacity will be attractive for many users.
Releasing a new model so soon after the handset's November 2007 release, however, could provoke consumer complaints.
The upgrade comes in the wake of a Financial Times report, which suggested that Apple had failed to meet its target of selling 200,000 iPhones in the UK.
Apple have also released a new model of its iPod touch mp3 player - doubling its capacity from 16GB to 32GB.
"Customers who’d like to carry more music, photos, and videos with them now have new models of iPhone and iPod touch with double the memory from which to choose," the firm said in a statement.
