Many Brits are worried about their mobile telephone connectivity and are scared they will miss calls, a new study has claimed.
In Conjunction with the Post Office, YouGov found that 55% of people studied to not turn their handsets off because they want to stay in contact with those close to them.
Head of Telephony at the former organisation Stewart Fox-Mills claimed that the findings prove that UK consumers always want to be near technology.
"It seems being out of mobile contact may be the 21st century's contribution to our already manic lives," he noted.
He added that such stresses can now be placed alongside those created when people move home, plan for Christmas and end a relationship.
Also, 10% of those studied stated that they need their handsets switched on at all times because work might get in touch with them.
Recently, Ofcom gave the green light for airliners to install equipment that can let people use mobiles onboard.
