An increase in fraud has been seen as a result of the rise of mobile technology, claims one expert.
Mike Hawkes, director of mobile security for the Mobile Data Association, says that the explosion of financial services which can be accessed on devices has contributed to this.
"A lot of people in Westminster for example have to use a mobile device in order to pay for their parking ... so you've got to be really careful with protection of the device," he continues.
He believes that committing fraud becomes "a lot more attractive" when mobile phones are used in this way.
Nonetheless, industry experts are doing a good job when it comes to protecting mobile phone users from such attacks, Mr Hawkes concludes.
