New iPhone 3G S boasts double speed of predecessor

The latest version of the iPhone 3G S, launched on June 8th, is twice as fast as its predecessor and will offer improved performance to boot. 

Apple's iPhone also features the latest version of the operating system iPhone OS 3.0, with more than 100 new features and the opportunity to take advantage of 50,000 applications. A preview of the new operating system was shown on March 17th. 

The iPhone 3G S can also be purchased with 16GB and 32GB capacities. 

Philip Schiller, Apple's Senior Vice-president of Worldwide Product Marketing, said: "iPhone 3G S is the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet and we think people will love the incredible new features including autofocus camera, video recording and the freedom of voice control." 

The new iPhone 3G S will be exclusively available on a contract with mobile operator O2.
