3 launches first no-payment monthly contract

16 June 2009

The UK's first contract without a monthly payment has been unveiled by 3, offering people the chance to have a SIM-only plan for nothing.

Set to be released tomorrow (June 17th), the deal will give people the chance to make Skype calls and send and receive instant messages for no cost.

Andy Nuttall, Head of Pay Monthly at 3, commented: "For customers who are fearful of commitment, SIM ZERO has minimal ties.

"Customers can try us out and if they don't love being with us, they can leave with just one month's notice."

Additional features include free voicemail within the UK, with standard calls charged at 20p a minute.

It was also revealed earlier this month that 3 is to offer mobile broadband contracts with just a one-month commitment period.
