Santander offers reward current account

A new current account is being offered by Santander, giving customers a wide range of benefits including a credit interest rate of 5% AER.

For three months, the account will be available half price to both new and existing customers.

Other perks include comprehensive worldwide travel insurance and breakdown assistance cover, meaning current account customers are getting more for their money.

Helen Bierton, Santander Current Account Manager, said: "The Santander Reward Account already offers great value for money with over £460 in benefits and a great in-credit rate for a very competitive monthly fee."

She added that the discounted fee of £5 means the current account offers even greater value for money to customers.

Last week, Santander reduced the rates on a number of its mortgage products for the sixth time this year.

Its four-year fixed-rate products have been cut by 0.4%, with Santander now lending one in five mortgages.
