Loans to ease life's spending

26 April 2005

New research has revealed that the average person in the UK spends £1,537,380 during their lifetime.

The study was conducted by insurer Prudential who also found that housing, food and clothes were the biggest drain on finances, accumulatively valued at £552,772.

Spokesperson Angus Maciver has suggested that this figure could possibly be highlighting a financial uncouthness on the part of consumers and that individuals should spend a little more wisely.

"We certainly are not suggesting that you should not get another dog, or take that trip to New Zealand next year," he explained.

"But we all need to be aware where our money goes and perhaps where we can trim costs."

Mr Maciver continued: "The real trick is to plan your expenses and your finances in general."

The best way to manage your finances, according to many leading experts, is to consider a personal loan as a financial solution to consolidate debts and avoid high paying interest rates.
