Banking giant HSBC has confirmed that more people in the UK are once again applying for personal loans.
The news comes after March saw a fall in the number of consumers choosing loans as a financial solution.
This fact has been reflected by HSBC's monthly consumer confidence index, which saw a rise last month of 1.6 per cent compared with April 2004.
This follows a 11.2 per cent annual fall in March. The findings also reveal a quarterly rise of 4.2 per cent in comparison with the first three months of last year.
The index is measured on the number of personal loans, mortgages and equity withdrawal enquiries that are made at HSBC's 1,700 branches nationwide.
