New research has revealed that wedding guests who need to travel abroad in order to attend the ceremonies of loved ones will spend around £1.8 billion on their trips.
The research carried out by Halifax Travel Insurance found that people travelling abroad to attend weddings spend an average of £1,300, something a well chosen personal loan could finance with minimal stress.
Senior underwriting manager at Halifax Travel Insurance, Vicky Emmott, said: "With weddings abroad becoming more common place you might expect that some guests would think twice about accepting an invitation, however it seems the vast majority of Brits (73 per cent) would attend a wedding no matter where it was."
