It has been revealed that DIY is the number one reason for Britons saving their cash, though loans are another way of paying for home improvements.
A survey by Birmingham Midshires' Saving Britain Campaign found that Brits saved 14 per cent more in the first quarter of this year than in the prior six months.
In the survey, most people said home improvement was their primary reason for saving.
And it was women who were saving more to spruce up their homes, slotting away an average of £85.
If you are looking to improve your home, and are unsure how long it will take to save to finance costly additions, it is worth considering a personal loan.
However, there are other ways of financing a face-lift for one's home, most notably a carefully-chosen loan, that can take a great deal of the stress out of decorating and help make the changes to the house sooner rather than later.
