According to new research, more and more Britons are finding the time and the money to escape to the sun every year.
The UK travel industry has grown by almost 33 per cent in only five years, but one in seven Brits fail to organise travel insurance before flying.
Marketing manager for American Express Travel Insurance, Joanne Field, said: "Around 37 million of us now travel independently and given the time and thought we put into planning holidays it is worrying that so many of us forget the basics and travel without insurance or with an inadequate level of cover."
