UK homebuyers are being advised to have their potential home checked out by a property surveyor before putting pen to paper.
In order to be on the safe side, homebuyers are advised to commission a full building survey, during which faults will be flagged up as well as any possible future problems such as subsidence.
With the cost of such a survey starting at around £500, and all the other costs involved in moving home, many people go without such a measure because of the expense.
