People taking out loans for holidays have been found to be most likely to travel to America.
A survey by internet travel agent ebookers found that 80 per cent of the top five destinations with British holidaymakers are in the US.
America has always been a favourite with British travellers but the availability of cheap flights, hotels and shopping due to the weak dollar has increased its' popularity over the last few years.
Orlando was identified as this year's top summer destination, followed by New York, Los Angeles, Faro in Portugal and then San Francisco.
Marketing director at ebookers, Chris Sherlock said: "We've seen a trend in the past five years for the traditional European break to be more of a weekend indulgence, to be taken a few times a year.
"As such, Britons are travelling further than ever for their summer holidays. The competitive dollar exchange rate has a lot to do with the current popularity of US destinations."
However, whether one is travelling to America for their vacation, or somewhere else in the sun, a loan can be stress-free way of making it happen.
