Body-conscious Brits are taking out personal loans in order to pay for expensive plastic surgery, Abbey has said.
Figures from the personal loans provider show that 918,000 are currently planning some form of cosmetic enhancement at a cost of around £1.4 billion.
Breast augmentation was the most dreamed-of surgery, with 27% of those polled by Abbey planning the operation.
One quarter plumped for tummy tucks - with 17% wanting rhinoplasty.
Paul Morrish, head of Abbey Loans, said: "Whether striving for visible perfection or as part of a medical treatment, plastic surgery is getting more and more popular amongst Britons.
"We are seeing an increase in requests to borrow for plastic surgery."
By far the most popular reason given by Brits for wanting surgery was to gain more confidence in how they looked, at 51%.
Abbey also say that a clear majority of procedures are planned by 18-to-34-year-olds.
