Industry regulator the Financial Services Authority (FSA) has unveiled a revamp of its advice website - which it says will help consumers manage their money more effectively.
The new Moneymadeclear site offers advice to those struggling with personal loan or other repayments - as well as giving more general financial guidance such as explaining what the 'credit crunch' is.
Moneymadeclear was launched specifically to provide a "jargon-free" service - and was visited by over 2.8 million web surfers last year.
The site also aims to encourage consumers to shop around for the best deal for financial services - and pick up a bargain in the process.
More generally, it offers a 'making your budget work for you' guide, featuring a specially-adapted personal finances calculator - as well as interactive tools to help work out how much borrowing will cost at different interest rates.
Through the main page, categories such as personal loans and credit cards can be accessed by internet surfers.
The FSA's website is found at moneymadeclear.fsa.gov.uk.
