Brits 'facing up to debt'

3 June 2008

British people are having to face their debt woes as the credit crunch takes hold, a new study from PruProtect has claimed.

Of those polled by the company, 52% claimed that their financial situation is bothering them more than anything else, something that may be of interest to those with personal loans.

And 58% thought that they are now under more stress in line with the worrying economic situation in the UK.

Sammy Rubin, Chief Executive at PruProtect, noted that people could do more to help themselves and pre-empt any financial changes.

"Protecting ourselves in the event of changes to our personal circumstances can take a huge weight off our minds," the official commented.

Moreover, 10% of UK consumers look to try and forget about their debt problems rather than sort them out, the company highlighted.

Alliance & Leicester Current Accounts recently stated that Brits believe they will have less disposable cash to spend as the credit crunch drags on.
