Boiler scrappage vouchers still up for grabs
Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Miliband said: "The scheme is helping householders to save around £200 a year off fuel bills and reduce emissions while helping to sustain work for the 130,000 installers."
Many energy suppliers which sell and install boilers have said they will match the offer available through the scrappage incentive, therefore giving people up to £800 off the cost of a new tank.
The scheme was launched last month, with 54,758 vouchers having been issued so far.
It was first announced by Chancellor Alistair Darling at the pre-Budget report in December 2009, after it was identified that energy-inefficient boilers add a tonne of carbon to the atmosphere every year.
